Lucky, aye. [ he nods, and then continues softly after a moment. ] You know I'm not completely helpless though, despite being a weak little human and all?

[ but he can appreciate the concern, too. Though he might feel a little affronted that Dodger's acquaintances so quickly turned their noses at him rather than deign to be interested. Terrible... ]

I am glad I can give you that, though.

[ He gently strokes Dodger's cheek again, giving him a light kiss in return. ]

Is there anything I can do for you right now?

You can't fight gods, Henry. I know you'd like to.

[He's actually incredibly charmed that Henry seems willing to bring a sword to a magic fight for him.

Dodger relaxes a bit further with the hand on his cheek, and he reaches up to guide Henry into touching his scars. It just feels nice, and it's something he only lets Henry do. For a few moments, he just wants to bask in the affection.]

Booze? Getting drunk would help me sleep. I could probably pilfer some from the kitchens, if you wanna drink with me for a bit.

I can fight them. But I get it, I wouldn't win.

[ The odds are very, very stacked against him. It's frustrating as hell that he can't do anything ever in this place.

But for now he lets the thoughts pass. He rather help Dodger come down from his nightmare, so he concentrates on running his fingers softly along the scars on the man's face. Downward strokes, tracing the trail they've left behind.

Booze is probably a bad idea but for someone from Henry's time, it's a reasonable request. So he nods after a minute or so of simply touching Dodger. ] Sure.

[smokedout]

[It's very tempting to just stay right here. Curled up with Henry, getting his scars touched and basking in the attention. But the call of alcohol pulls him out of it, just enough to stand up and reach for his yukata. Just in case he runs into anyone while he's pilfering.]

Just promise me you're not gonna try and keep up with me. I'm getting three bottles for me and one for you.

[He reaches for the cigarette pack in one of his sleeves, and lights one up while he talks.]

I'll be back in a bit - I can turn invisible, so it's easier for me to do it alone. Just stay here and keep looking pretty, alright?

[horseliberator]

I didn't intend to try.

[ He assures Dodger, watching him from the bed. In fact, he was thinking about going slowly, so he doesn't actually get all that drunk. Henry is a silly drunk ... ]

You can turn invisible ... [ Of fucking course he can. Henry will circle back to that some other time. Now he makes a point of stretching out on the bed comfortably. ]

Well, I'll do my best then. Be careful, anyway.

[smokedout]

I'm always careful.

[Dodger winks, and then vanishes. No particle effects or fade-out, he just isn't now. Although Henry will be able to hear his footsteps, relatively quiet as they are, traveling out of their room.

About fifteen minutes later he teleports back into the room, announcing himself with a flash of fire before settling back on their futon. He's got two bottles held in each hand - Awamori, the first high-proof liquor he spotted.]

One for you, three for me - go slow with it, I tried to find something that would fuck me up.

[And this is as close as he's getting, since he couldn't find any Everclear.]

[horseliberator]

[ Henry does his best not to think too hard on what he just saw. Or didn't see. It's because it's dark in here. That's what it is.

Either way, he ends up relaxing and almost even drifted off to sleep again when the sudden fire flaring up before him sucks out any bit of drowsiness that he could have conceivably had or even thought about having. He doesn't swear, but his hand comes up to his chest like his heart's just exploded.

God help him. ]

Stop worrying about me and come here, then. Unless you want me out of bed now?

[smokedout]

[Dodger snorts, and takes his place right next to Henry, gesturing for him to take a bottle while he sets the rest down next to them.]

I've gotta teleport around you more often, you're still jumpy.

[He follows it up with a kiss, before he works on opening his own bottle and drinking about half of it in one go.]

[horseliberator]

[ He takes his bottle, looking it over as though he can tell much about it in the dark anyway. ]

I'll never get used to it.

[ He allows the kiss but mumbles the words a little defeatedly once it breaks. It's too much like he's being visited by the devil or something.

Deciding not to question how quickly Dodger's went down, he opens up the bottle and takes a decent-sized swig. It gets him to cough a little or at least he's making an attempt to turn it into a weirdly drawn out clearing of his throat. ]

Good God, what is this stuff?

[smokedout]

No idea. But it's got a good burn.

[Dodger wipes his mouth, and lets out a contented noise at the flickering beginnings of a buzz. After a moment he leans against Henry's shoulder, just to have a bit more contact.]

Wanna play a game? I used to play this thing with my coworkers at home... we go back and forth asking each other questions, and the other person either answers or takes a shot. Or... y'know, a sip in this case. Since we don't have shot glasses.

[Granted, the last time he played this he ended up drinking anyway just to feel a buzz. It turns out everything Rin wanted to know about Dodger was something he doesn't mind answering - but Henry might be more of a challenger.]

I'll say.

[ He leans back a little to get comfortable himself, though doesn't take another swig just yet. He really did mean to pace himself.

As he considers the proposal he has to wonder if Dodger won't just choose the drinking option every time. There has been more than once where he shut Henry's questions down immediately. But if getting drunk is the escape he wants, well... that's a way to do it. ]

Why not? Go ahead.

[smokedout]

[Dodger lets out a short hum while he thinks. Really, he's got a few big questions on his mind, but he wants to save them until Henry is drunker.]

Who's the best person you've slept with here so far?

[horseliberator]

Ah, come on.

[ Fishing for compliments!! Henry considers deeply for a moment, raising his brow suspiciously at Dodger. ]

Suppose it's you, since I keep coming back.

[smokedout]

I'm starting to think you do need to branch out... maybe I'll introduce you to one of my friends.

[He is preening, though, even if he was absolutely fishing.]

Your turn, ask a question. Whatever's on your mind.

[horseliberator]

I absolutely do. And there's no need, I can do well enough on my own you know.

[ He huffs softly, but deep down he is glad that Dodger already seems distracted. ]

Alright. What's the craziest thing you've used those Mating Pod rooms for?

[smokedout]

Hmm... blacksmithing is up there. But uh, Esikko used one of those rooms to do blood magic on me, once. I spent an hour wearing his skin, looking like him and having his voice in my head telling me what to do.

[Which... the longer he talks the less merry his tone is. Because he can't fucking believe he let someone do that to him, after everything he's gone through.]

...Good thing he did, because I figured out what he did to my best friend. The person he wanted me to spy on, pretending to be him. So.

[He chugs a bit more alcohol, just to drown those feelings out.]

[horseliberator]

[ Ah, fuck. Well he didn't want to bring up Esikko at all. But of course that freak would make the top of the list. Henry can't hold back an expression of revulsion. He does, at least resist crossing himself. ]

Fucking, kurva- [ He takes a drink too. That's not the rules but he deserves it. ]

We're just going to say it was the blacksmithing. Anyway, your question.

[smokedout]

[Dodger lets out a little huff of laughter, although it's almost devoid of humor. God, he hates Esikko so much.

He pushes the thought out of his mind, though, and takes another drink while he decides on a question.]

What's something you've been wanting to do with me, that we haven't done yet?

[horseliberator]

[ Henry doesn't say a word more about it either, not keen on discussing the man responsible for all this.

He snorts softly at the question. ]

Oh, I don't know. Picked you right up off your feet, put a good meal and some water in you, and tuck you into bed for a full night's rest.

[smokedout]

[Dodger ends up blushing, and raising a hand up to try and mask it. Which does fuck all in such close proximity, so after a bit of hesitation he just leans a little more heavily against Henry.]

Sounds relationship-y.

[Or like adopting a stray dog. But he likes the idea of being domestic like that with someone who actually appreciates it. Unlike Esikko.]

Let's do it sometime. Get some good food, and water, and go back to your place after. And I'll keep my hands to myself if you want me to.

[He doesn't tend to sleep for very long, but he does need more sleep than he gets. He just doesn't afford himself the luxury, it feels like luxury enough to have Henry next to him.]

[ That makes Henry smile, bringing his free arm up around Dodger's shoulders.

He just really deeply feels that Dodger has never been taken care of properly, and he isn't sure he's the most qualified to change that, but he can do his best. He just expected more of a resistance from the man who wants to be collared and choked and called questionably rude things. ]

You wouldn't have to do that, but I would make sure you got to sleep.

[ Some... how. He'll think about that later. ]

Alright then, same question for you. But you can't answer something like you want me to stab you with a knife.

[He has to tease, even if he is planning to explain knifeplay at some point later for Henry's benefit.

He wavers, though, on what exactly he wants to ask for. And finally he settles on something safer than what's on his mind.]

I wanna watch you fuck Rin, and eat her out after you're done with her.

[Doesn't have to be Rin specifically, but she is the only woman willing to sleep with Dodger.]

And, ah... Viktor asked about fucking you while I watched. Since I was talking about having him watch me with Jayce. That seemed fun, too.

[ Henry just chuckles a little at that, setting his drink aside for the moment. He is still determined not to get silly. ]

After I'm done?

[ Dodger has something about eating cum apparently, but Henry doesn't say that out loud. Instead, he lifts his eyebrows at the mention of Viktor. The man did say he was amenable to playing the 'game' with Henry, but he still seems surprised. ]

Viktor did? I feel... kind of... flattered.

[smokedout]

Yeah. I want to taste you on her.

[Ignoring that he can't taste things. It's the thought that counts.]

And yeah, he did. Might be fun to... swap blacksmiths. I don't know if I could handle three men at once, but... I trust you and I trust both of them, so maybe we could do something in the same room.

[He hesitates.]

I like watching you enjoy yourself. So it'd be good, watching you with someone else.

Right. Well, if she agreed to it...

[ She is an attractive girl, so he doesn't really mind. Henry is but a simple bisexual man.

"Swapping blacksmiths" makes him laugh though. ]

Sure, might be fun. I've yet to meet Jayce, I'm not sure that's the setting I want it to be.

[ He pauses a moment, thinking of all this combined with something Viktor said to him. ]

Are Viktor and Jayce ... together?
