[ Henry scoffs, swinging his arm down to deflect Dodger's hook. It still hurts on impact to be sure, but it's not right in his side where he'd be gasping for air. ]

Dammit, Dodger, I know how to fight. This isn't a lesson.

[ He steps back, wiggling his arm out a couple times before bringing both up in a defensive stance. ]

I know my limits, so take me seriously.

Every fight's a lesson. If you're not learning, you're about to lose.

[He is impressed by Henry deflecting him, though - this is already better than sparring with Jayce, he can tell Henry knows what he's doing.

So sure, he'll take him seriously. Dodger moves forward with a few quick jabs, making sure to keep Henry's focus on protecting his chest. And once he's sure he's got that, he ducks down to execute a leg sweep.]

My mistake, wise master.

[ He returns, indeed drawing his attention to blocking jabs to his chest. His reflexes are fast, but not fast enough to dodge the hit to his legs. Though he doesn't completely fall on his ass, he stumbles. ]

Sakra- [ At least he takes the sudden lower position he's in to make a hit for Dodger's side. Two consecutive swings to one side, a quick jab to the other in the chance he's distracted by it. ]

[Dodger gets cocky, as soon as that first kick lands. He forgets, for a moment, that his fighting style relies pretty heavily on teleporting when he gets himself into a bad spot. So he dodges away from the first strike, then the second, and can't quite get away from the third. His reflexes kick in and he tries to teleport - which results in a few sharp warning beeps from his collar as the light flashes orange, right before he gets hit.

Fuck. Okay. He has to stop and regain his bearings, with a look of quiet dread on his face. But- it's fine, he's been tased before, he knows he can handle it. So he does his best to shake it off and get back into things, taking a defensive stance for a bit until he can find a good opening to aim a punch at Henry's stomach, and then another toward his face.]

[ Henry is surprised by the attempt to teleport and the beeps and flashes on it that followed, stepping back a couple of feet though he's still on his guard. Fucking weird, he thinks, but tries to stay focused on the fight. That's what they're here for, to let Dodger get off some steam (and maybe Henry too, God knows he's got some pent up in there). ]

You good?

[ He asks this, but keeps his fists up. Compassion sometimes a weakness though, and while he deflects the punch to his stomach, he gets a punch square in the jaw. Stars fly for a moment, but he's not about to let that be all (especially when he's extra determined to show Dodger that he is tough). He swings out a counter-punch after, turning head aside to spit on the ground. Just in case something's bleeding in there. ]

I'm fine.

[Although there's definitely some alarm on Dodger's face when his fist connects with Henry's face, still used to the amount of damage he'd be doing without the collar on. But Henry's head isn't caved in, so- they're fine. Normal man strength is nowhere near as dangerous, and he's still holding back a bit instinctively.

The extra attention he's giving to check on Henry bites him right back, though, when that counter-punch connects perfectly with his face. Dodger stumbles back a bit, and shakes his head a bit to deal with the momentary daze.]

Here - see if you can dodge this.

[A bit of a warning seems fair. And it seems like he completely misses a punch right afterward - except he didn't, he's faking out and moving into a cartwheel to aim a kick at Henry's shoulder. Which is, in its own way, an admission that he's taking Henry seriously. Enough to not handicap his own fighting prowess, at least.]

[ Henry just shakes it off like he's been punched in the face a few times before, so Dodger is definitely safe from caving his head in for the time being. Thank God too, Henry was starting to get really exasperated thinking about how weak he comes off to people with superpowers.

In fact, he laughs a little bit as his own hit connects to Dodger's face. An eye for an eye and all.

But he's not expecting acrobatics (that's for jesters and actors and stuff...), so he has to stumble back a bit as Dodger cartwheels toward him. He gives a gruff grunt as his foot lands its kick, knocking a bit of wind out of him. But he's too surprised to really get too frustrated about it. ]

What, we're in a show now?

[ He asks, pretty sure he can't replicate that without ending up on his ass so he sticks to what he knows, closing the space between the two of them again so he can use his fists. He waits for any sign of an opening before making his strikes. At the face first, then the gut. ]

[The comment earns a huff of laughter, which is about all that Dodger can manage while using his acrobatics. He needs to be ready to move out of the way of the next swing, dodging with a level of flexibility that one wouldn't generally expect from someone with his build.

He's still getting used to the feeling of fighting like this - he isn't usually putting up an actual fight when his powers are shut off. So he can hold his own well enough, but every so often he cuts something too close and his collar beeps another warning. And the second time that happens, he hesitates long enough for Henry to land a proper blow to his stomach.]

Fuck- does it normally hurt this much?

[He doesn't sound like he's really got a problem with it. Really, it's just giving him less of a barrier to feel the sort of pain that wakes him up and gets him excited.]

[ That flexibility is impressive. Henry just doesn't have time to marvel at it much right now.

The beeping still makes him a bit apprehensive, but damn it does feel a bit good to have landed a good sock to Dodger's middle. He laughs, choppy and short as he catches his breath in between. ]

It should, yes.

[ For now he hops back a couple of steps, observing what Dodger might do next. He has to think about how to incorporate dodging the acrobatics now too, but he's still determined to "win" the match. ]

I'm a formidable opponent to other normal men, I think.

I'll keep that in mind if I piss any off.

[You know, men he can ethically allow Henry to fight on his behalf... like finding enrichment for a pet. (Really he'd just be too anxious about letting Henry go after someone with powers.)

Dodger is still hesitant to get too fancy with his fighting - partly because it seems important to be evenly matched, partly because he really isn't used to fighting without the ability to course-correct by teleporting around. But he's chasing that feeling of pain, moving recklessly and leaving openings he doesn't mean to. Occasionally, repeating some of his more acrobatic moves to give Henry time to learn how they work, because there is something comforting about knowing Henry could fight him if he needed to for some reason.

Unfortunately for Dodger, fancy footwork takes energy. So even if he isn't losing steam as quickly as he would while teleporting around, he is getting notably sloppier over time.]

Shouldn't be too difficult.

[ He smirks a little. Though honestly the challenge is more to find a regular human, Henry is starting to think.

Since this is the type of fighting he's used to, Henry would probably be inclined to leave less random openings. Though it has been a fast minute since he last had a bout like this, so he has his own lapses. Mostly he can really take a punch even if he's losing blood in some manner or his vision occasionally gets fuzzy around the edges. It's exhilarating to be able to fight like this ...

His stamina, thanks to the sex, remains pretty good though. So when he notices Dodger losing some steam, he really goes in for it. His punches get a little quicker in succession, and he goes for the gut again the second he sees Dodger falter on his feet for any reason. If he lands that, then he goes for the legs. He wants to prevent any of that tumbling around, even if he is getting used to it. ]

[Dodger is sure he can handle this, right up until Henry winds him and takes out his legs. He ends up toppling over, and his collar beeps another warning before he has the presence of mind to not try teleporting, and instead just land painfully on his elbow.]

Fuck... I yield. I need a breather.

[He ends up just shifting to lay on his back, rubbing his elbow gingerly. It occurs to him, laying here, that maybe he was taking his mutant endurance for granted. Maybe if he was fully human he'd be much less equipped for the sort of nonsense he gets up to.]

...This was good though. I feel... better.

[ Henry bounces on his feet, ready to go in for the kill, but he steps off the moment Dodger yields, dropping his hands with a winded laugh. ]

Alright, understood.

[ He holds out his hand if Dodger wants a hand up. Or he can lay there for a few minutes, that works as well. ]

Glad it helped. Felt good for me, too. I'm definitely getting rusty.

[Dodger takes the hand, but instead tries to tug Henry down on the floor with him. The angle is all wrong for forcing it, and he's being too gentle anyway, so it's a suggestion more than anything. But Henry will get a kiss out of it if he goes along with it.]

We'll have to do this more often, then. I could use some practice... fighting like a human.

[Even if he gets the brand off, there are ways to take his powers away. Augustine could do it by touching Dodger, Arzial could shut them off just by speaking, and having this power collar around means that someone could steal it and use it against him. And being as well-versed in fighting dirty as he is, he's always thinking a few steps ahead to all sorts of things he might have to deal with later.]

[ The "suggestion" makes him laugh more softly this time, and eventually he collapses his way down next to Dodger on the floor. ]

Fine by me.

[ he studies Dodger a moment, looking over the damage (not extremely concerned with his own at the moment), and raises a brow. ]

I think you could. I heard all the noises that thing was making.

[Dodger lets out an amused snort, and cups Henry's face to seek out another kiss. He's a little bruised up, but nothing that won't heal up in a week or so.]

Guess I'm just too used to teleporting when I see something coming toward me.

[A pause.]

Time stands still for a little bit, when I do it. It doesn't hurt, it's just... quiet. And I can get a good look at everything around me, really think. I know it feels like shit to ride along, but- I wish you could feel how it is on my end.

[ Henry kisses him back, and then smiles thoughtfully, even if it's already getting a little painful to move his face. ]

I guess that would make sense, when you have such an ability.

[ He would probably also just teleport away all the time if he could. Then again, he does love a good brawl doesn't he.

His smile softens a little as Dodger describes the action. It's crazy because it sounds like it's the exact opposite of how it felt for Henry. ]

I'd definitely prefer to feel it your way.

[Dodger lets out a huff of laughter, and sits up a bit so he can keep running his fingers over Henry's face. Touching the bruises that are forming there as gently as he can manage, which probably ends up over-correcting since he's used to managing his strength.]

Maybe John has something for that. A power-swapping potion or something.

[He pauses.]

We should get you some ice. And we should get this collar off - you've just gotta put the key into the slot and turn it.

[ Henry closes his eyes, but he's still chuckling, so it's not as though he's dozing off or anything. He's just enjoying Dodger's fingers. ]

Maybe. I ought to ask him next time I run into him.

[ He eventually opens his eyes back up again though, sitting up partially on his elbows at first, and then heaving up to sit properly. ]

Never needed ice back home, [ because there wasn't any ] I'll be fine. Right though, let me get that key.

[ He digs out the little fob that Dodger had given him and presses the button so the little compartment opens and reveals the key. ] Come here.

You don't get a medal for toughing it out, y'know.

[Dodger, you're one to talk. It's fine, he just wants to fuss.

But he sits up, and tips his head to give Henry better access to his collar. As soon as the key is turned, the green light switches off and the whole thing drops off in Henry's hand. Dodger shivers as his skin heats back up, and he breathes a sigh of relief.]

Much better.

Yeah? Why not?

[ He smirks mostly on the non-bruising side of his face as he works the lock and gets that collar back.

He's glad it really does seem to be that simple. It was nice to interact with Dodger regular man to regular man, but he's also happy that he's back to himself. ]

Good. Now while your superpowers get to make you feel brand new again, you can be extra sweet to me and nurse me back to health.

[He lets out a huff of laughter.]

I can ignore the pain, doesn't mean it's going away. But sure, I'll play nurse for you.

[Dodger takes the collar back, and sticks it into one of those hidden pockets in his jacket along with the key fob. And then he takes a moment to stretch, before pushing himself to his feet.]

C'mon. We can swing by my place so I can grab supplies, then I can patch you up in your room. I'll even carry you if you don't think you can walk.

[He knows Henry can, he just likes picking him up.]

Even after you're back to normal, when I usually couldn't hurt you?

[ It's still hard for him to understand certain parts of having powers...

He shakes his head, rolling over to also push himself up even if it's a bit reluctantly. ]

Nah, I was only yanking your pizzle. I don't need all that. And I'm entirely capable of walking with my own two feet.

Sure. If you broke a bone while I was human, it wouldn't just fix itself. Accelerated healing is its own mutation.

[Dodger is, to a certain extent, bullshitting. He doesn't entirely understand how his body works himself, and it's not like he can call his uncle up to double-check things. But all of his new bruises hurt, even if it's easy enough for him to keep moving anyway, so he supposes he's mostly correct.]

Then I guess you don't need me to kiss anything better either, right?

Hm. [ He's clearly letting this all buffer in his brain. ] I guess I just assumed since you're so strong, your body would be too.

[ To hell with it anyway, he'll probably never fully understand. He decides to just focus on the rest of their conversation, the corner of his lip lifting up again. ]

Now, I'll do the walking. I didn't say you couldn't kiss it better.
